The Union City Soaring Eagles were expected to have a tough go of it on Tuesday, and that's exactly how things played out. They suffered a grim 51-31 defeat to the Lincoln Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Union City of the 45-22 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head last month.
This is the second loss in a row for the Soaring Eagles and nudges their record down to 11-10. The win bumped Lincoln's record up to 11-3.
Union City will take on Kearny on Thursday. Union City's scoring has been on the decline the past three games, which is obviously a trend Kearny hopes will continue. As for Lincoln, they will face off against Bayonne on Thursday. Lincoln is at home for the game, a silver lining they hope will compensate for their disadvantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
