Glenvar has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. They will face off against Appomattox County in a playoff game on Friday. Both teams have allowed few points on average (Glenvar 16.64, Appomattox County 17.27), so any points scored will be well earned.
The Highlanders took their matchup last week with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over Floyd County. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28 to nothing.
Meanwhile, Appomattox County earned some postseason bragging rights after a successful outing last Friday. They were fully in charge, breezing past Chatham 64-22. It should come as no surprise that the experts had more or less unanimously put their money on Appomattox County.
Glenvar was close but no cigar when the two teams last met in last November as they fell 24-21 to Appomattox County. The defeat knocked the Highlanders out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at the Raiders with a vengeful fire.
