Volunteer won the last time they faced Gate City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Falcons walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Blue Devils.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 24-26, 25-18, 25-11.

Gate City's loss came despite strong showings from Sophie Webb and Emma Jobe. Webb had ten digs and two blocks, while Jobe had nine digs. Webb is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Volunteer has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Gate City, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Volunteer will head out to square off against Grainger at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gate City, they will venture away from home to face off against Abingdon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
