After six games on the road, Soda Springs is heading back home. They will take on the West Side Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Soda Springs will be strutting in after a win while West Side will be coming in after a loss.
Soda Springs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Bear Lake by a score of 55-43. The victory was all the more spectacular given Soda Springs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Bear Lake is ranked 20th).
Meanwhile, West Side suffered a tough 48-28 loss at the hands of Firth on Saturday. West Side has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, West Side saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Halle Taylor, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season.
Soda Springs' win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for West Side, they bumped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Soda Springs strolled past West Side in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 49-33. Does Soda Springs have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Side turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
