Lynbrook is 1-9 against Palo Alto since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Lynbrook will look to defend their home field against Palo Alto at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lynbrook took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past MacDonald 21-19. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Vikings' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Audrey Lee and Sarah Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Lee went 4-for-5 with six runs, three stolen bases, and two RBI, while Martin went 4-for-6 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those six runs gave Lee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maansi Kaligotla, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Lynbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .551. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Palo Alto made easy work of MacDonald on Friday and carried off a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Kira Tzeng was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Tzeng was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kendall Butler was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Kensie Pao was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Palo Alto pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Lynbrook, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lynbrook has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .492. However, it's not like Palo Alto struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
