Bishop Manogue scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 66-26 win over Damonte Ranch. Given Bishop Manogue's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Damonte Ranch is ranked 56th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop Manogue got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Milasarai Tau out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Tau has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaileen Yarrow, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Even though Douglas has not done well against Reno recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Douglas really took it to Reno for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-17 win on the road. That looming 52-17 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Douglas yet this season.
Bishop Manogue's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Douglas, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Bishop Manogue didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Douglas when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory.
