The Taylorsville Warriors will face off against the West Jordan Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Jordan's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Taylorsville hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Warriors never let Hunter get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Cole Kramer made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Kramer was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Brex Romney was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Isaac Woolley, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Taylorsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
While West Jordan didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Hunter last Friday as they made off with a 23-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Jaguars as they're now sitting on three straight.
Bryn Gibson looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.
At the plate, West Jordan got a massive performance out of Dannon Hall, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave Hall a new career-high. Blake DiFrancesco was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
West Jordan pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Taylorsville, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Everything went Taylorsville's way against West Jordan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Taylorsville made off with a 14-2 victory. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
