Santa Rosa found their leader in underclassman Amber Mendoza, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mendoza scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Navarro, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
IDEA Weslaco Pike's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Santa Rosa, they pushed their record up to 8-13 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
IDEA Weslaco Pike barely slipped by Santa Rosa in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 33-32. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Mendoza, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds.
