Volleyball Recap: Trego Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Trego unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Wallace County Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Golden Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Trego started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-17, 25-18.

Tegan Lang paced Trego's offense, picking up seven kills. Lang were helped by Cambrey Klitzke and Maura Albers, who contributed seven assists each. Leah Day controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Trego's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Wallace County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-6.

Trego didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Osborne on the 13th. As for Wallace County, they will head out on the road to square off against Greeley County on Tuesday.
