The Kiski Area Cavaliers will take on the Plum Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Kiski Area: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Plum has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
On Wednesday, Kiski Area needed a bit of extra time to put away Armstrong. They skirted past the River Hawks 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cavaliers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Tylar Hanley and Dominick Hand made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Hanley struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hand pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hanley also tossed a walk, which is notable because Kiski Area is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-7 otherwise. At the plate, Hanley went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Hand went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Hanley a new career-high.
In other batting news, John Deluca was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dimitri Spagnola, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Plum posted their closest victory since March 19th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Avonworth.
Braden Kemmerer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Lafferty, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Jake Dombkowski was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Plum's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Kiski Area, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-8.
Kiski Area skirted past Plum 7-6 in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
