The Eastern Randolph Wildcats had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost to Oak Grove on the road by a decisive 75-57 margin. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Eastern Randolph had strong showings from Julian Brooks, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds, and Nicah Taylor, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Revelle, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Eastern Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Oak Grove, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.
Eastern Randolph won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Albemarle is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Oak Grove will be home for the holidays to greet High Point Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. High Point Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Oak Grove is ranked 216th).
