The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hialeah, who took down 139th ranked Hialeah, 38-27. Keon Roman threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 79 yards in the win.
Dr. Krop moved up to 171 from 199 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 8A District 13. The Lightning climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Thoroughbreds 38-27.
Jovon Durante was the best wideout in the league this week as Dr. Krop beat Hialeah. Durante racked up five receptions for 112 yards. Itoro Nelson helped Dr. Krop's passing attack out by catching three balls for 38 yards.
Charles Romane was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 235 yards on 25 carries as North Miami bested the Thoroughbreds. Teammate James Volcy added to the ground attack by rushing for 44 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Roman of the Lightning is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1707. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. On the ground, the Pioneers' Romane has rushed for 987 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nesley Ostral. The North Miami star has 25 catches for 630 yards.
Romane of the North Miami is only 13 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
North Miami Beach was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Chargers defeated Ed Williams' team 31-28.
