Basketball Recap: Central Dauphin Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Cumberland Valley

On Friday, Central Dauphin faced Cumberland Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Central Dauphin Rams fell just short of the Cumberland Valley Eagles by a score of 63-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (59), the Rams still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Central Dauphin still got an impressive performance from Wayne Fletcher II, who went 9 of 21 en route to 31 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance gave Fletcher II a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jelani Easter, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 12 points.

It was another big night for Nolan Buzalka, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 17 boards for Cumberland Valley. The contest was Buzalka's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jj Lebo, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Central Dauphin's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Cumberland Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Dauphin will face off against Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cumberland Valley, they will challenge Altoona at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
