Football Game Preview: Neshaminy Skins vs. Central Bucks West Bucks

The Neshaminy Skins will venture away from home to face off against the Central Bucks West Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Neshaminy was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Pennsbury on Friday. The Skins were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Falcons. The Skins pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

It was another big night for Michael Eckart, who threw for 234 yards and three TDs while completing 79.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 97 yards on only nine carries. His passing game has become a key predictor of Neshaminy's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Carter Clee was in the mix as well, providing the Skins with two scores.

Neshaminy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Mike Sassano was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Central Bucks West was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Central Bucks East by a score of 28-21. Given the Bucks' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Patriots are ranked 87th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Bucks West's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Neshaminy, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-3.

Neshaminy beat Central Bucks West 28-18 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
