If Lakeshore were riding high off their 74-43 takedown of the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lakeshore fell just short of Belle Chasse by a score of 65-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Kyle Reeves, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals for Belle Chasse. The game was Reeves' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Louviere, who scored 15 points.
Lakeshore's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. As for Belle Chasse, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
Lakeshore won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Amant at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. St. Amant knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Lakeshore likes a good challenge. Belle Chasse won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pearl River at 11:00 a.m. on January 6th. Pearl River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Belle Chasse is ranked 124th).
