Moriarty was the  9-8 winner over Espanola Valley when they last played one another  two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Moriarty Pintos fell just short of the Espanola Valley Sundevils by a score of  15-14 on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that Moriarty has lost by  just one  run.

Kristina Means was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-5.
 On Espanola Valley's side, they got a  massive  performance out of  Ezrie Villalobos, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gabriela Segura, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-5.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Moriarty and  nudges their season record down to 13-8. As for Espanola Valley, their win  ended  a  five-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 6-16.
 Moriarty will head out on the road to  take on  Los Alamos at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Los Alamos will roll in looking for their  11th straight  victory, something Moriarty surely won't give up without a fight. As for Espanola Valley, they will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Albuquerque Academy at 1:00  p.m.
