Volleyball Recap: Cushman Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cushman entered their tilt with Basilica on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Mariners by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Mariners back in August, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

While Cushman might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Basilica scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 18-25, 25-23.

Olivia Corzo paced Cushman's offense, picking up eight kills. Corzo got some help from Kelly Lopez and her 18 assists. Jessica Iacoban controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Cushman's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Basilica, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Cushman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Somerset College Prepartory Academy South on the 6th. As for Basilica, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Key West on the 6th.
