Petersburg is 0-7 against Sudan since March of 2022 but things could change  on Saturday. The Petersburg Buffaloes will host the Sudan Hornets  at 11:00  a.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with ten  losses in a row dating back to last season, Petersburg  turned things around against Ralls  on Tuesday. They walked away with  a   24-20  win over the Jackrabbits. The Buffaloes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
The team  relied heavily on  KYNLEE OVALLE, who  scored four  runs and  stole  Three bases. while  getting on base  in all six of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  E Rendon, who  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in five of her six plate appearances.
 Petersburg  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .592. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Sudan came up short against  New Home on Tuesday, falling  22-12. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  two weeks ago (11), the Hornets still had to take the loss.
 Sudan got a  massive  performance out of  Daniella Ramirez, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. What's more,  Ramirez posted two  hits, the most she's  had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lillianna Sanchez, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Petersburg's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Sudan, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1.
Saturday's   matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Petersburg has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Sudan struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .597. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
