Payson won against Safford last Wednesday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Payson Longhorns claimed a resounding 55-15 win over the Vista Grande Spartans. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Payson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace DeSchaaf, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Whaley, who posted 11 points and six steals.

Payson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Payson's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36 points. As for Vista Grande, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Payson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-23 victory against Canyon del Oro on the 13th. As for Vista Grande, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 33-28 loss against North Valley Christian Academy on the 13th.
