Bethel Christian's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They snuck past Big Valley with a 42-38 win. For Bethel Christian, this counts as revenge for the 51-20 loss Big Valley walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Leading Bethel Christian to victory were Rad Schenkenberger and Braden Johnson. Schenkenberger dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds, while Johnson scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Bethel Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abraham Mast, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Josue Barba and Juan Flores certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Barba scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, while Flores scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Bethel Christian pushed their record up to 3-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Big Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Bethel Christian will head out on the road to challenge Hayfork at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hayfork's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Big Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Butte Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
