The Otay Ranch Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Olympian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Otay Ranch has four straight wins, Olympian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Olympian's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Otay Ranch hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Everything went the Mustangs' way against Coronado on Saturday as they made off with a 6-0 victory.

Coronado's batters probably weren't too happy with Scarlett Martinez, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Martinez.
On the hitting side, Avah Gonzales was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Rylee Capdevielle also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Otay Ranch hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. Olympian took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwest EC. That's two games in a row now that Olympian has lost by exactly five runs.
Isabella Zamora was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was NiKayla Flowers, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Otay Ranch's win bumped their record up to 10-5-1. As for Olympian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-2.
Olympian's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Otay Ranch has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Olympian, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Otay Ranch keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
