Baseball Recap: South Bend Adams Has No Trouble Against South Bend Riley

After only two runs in their last game, South Bend Adams made sure to put some runs up on the board against South Bend Riley on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Wildcats. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

KANE GODDARD tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, WESSON HOKE was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. BEN PIECHOCKI was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

South Bend Adams was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Bend Riley only posted a batting average of .263.

South Bend Adams' win bumped their record up to 5-18. As for South Bend Riley, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

South Bend Adams will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
