The New Richmond Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Batavia. The result was an unpleasant reminder to New Richmond of the 75-64 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, New Richmond still got an impressive performance from Luke Wolf, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wolf has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grant Hess, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
New Richmond has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Batavia, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Richmond will face off against Clinton-Massie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Batavia will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
