Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 16 to 9 on the offensive boards, a fact the Canyon View Falcons proved on Thursday. They managed a 49-45 victory over Juab. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Canyon View.
Maylee Spencer was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Hadlee Farrow was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Several Wasps players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ava Cuff, who scored 15 points. The contest was Cuff's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hyatt, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Canyon View has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Juab, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon View will take on Emery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Emery is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Juab, they will head out on the road to face off against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Delta is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
