St. Stephen's Episcopal suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 53-28 defeat at the hands of Episcopal. While losing is never fun, St. Stephen's Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Episcopal is ranked 52nd).
St. Stephen's Episcopal got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Kennedy Lartigue and
Jadyn Houston, who each put up six points. Houston also led the team in rebounds with nine.
Donnica Armstrong took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Meanwhile, Hyde Park scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Thursday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 78-21 blowout they got at home against Austin Royals HomeSchool. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Hyde Park has posted yet this season.
St. Stephen's Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Hyde Park, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-11.
Everything came up roses for St. Stephen's Episcopal against Hyde Park in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as the squad secured a 47-18 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Stephen's Episcopal since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
