Softball Recap: Northwest Guilford Gets the Win

It was a classic North v. South duel when Northwest Guilford challenged Southeast Guilford on Tuesday. The Vikings walked away with a 13-8 win over the Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-5 back in March.

The victory made it two in a row for Northwest Guilford and bumps their season record up to 12-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Southeast Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Guilford will challenge Southwest Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Guilford, they will take on Western Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.39 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
