The Coolidge Bears scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Gilbert Christian with a sharp 61-40 victory. Coolidge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Alaysia White, who dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 17 rebounds, and ten steals. White is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Naylissa Charles was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Unesu Machiri and Kaila Aston certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Machiri scored 15 points along with three steals, while Aston scored four points along with two steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Lillie Duitsman, who scored five points.
Coolidge pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Gilbert Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
Coolidge will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Globe at 5:30 p.m. Globe is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Gilbert Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Florence at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Florence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Monday.
