Skylar Sane tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Giada Presot, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. What's more, she posted four RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Aly Williams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Cuyahoga Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKinley only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Maplewood came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 4-0.
Addison Marker made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Marker was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple.
Marker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Calvert, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Cuyahoga Heights has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Maplewood, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
