Basketball Recap: Hamilton Drops Season-High Score on North Hollywood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hamilton). They were the clear victor by an 87-64 margin over the North Hollywood Huskies on Thursday. The Yankees have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

Hamilton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Garrett Anderson out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Anderson a new career-high in assists (eight). Alan Tashlyk was another key player, going 8 for 16 on his way to 20 points.

Hamilton was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

North Hollywood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Luis, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Ramos, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 17 points.

Hamilton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for North Hollywood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Hamilton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 1:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. North Hollywood also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Sylmar at 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
