Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Greene's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity Christian School of Griffin over Peachtree Academy

It was a proper cat-fight when Trinity Christian School of Griffin duked it out withPeachtree Academy on Tuesday. The Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peachtree Academy Panthers. The LIONS were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 73-57.

Several LIONS players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Greene, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 20 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Greene a new career-high in points. Travone Appling was another key player, going 5 of 6 en route to 11 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Peachtree Academy was led to victory by Liam Abraham and Caleb Jackson. Abraham dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Jackson went 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordi Bello, who posted six points and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Trinity Christian School of Griffin and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Peachtree Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-8 record.

Trinity Christian School of Griffin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-54 victory against Konos Academy on the 14th. As for Peachtree Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 92-36 loss against Lanier Christian Academy on the 9th.
