Basketball Game Preview: Campion Academy Cougars vs. Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado Archers

The Campion Academy Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado Archers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Campion Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Campion Academy will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Mile High Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Campion Academy came out on top against Mile High Academy by a score of 48-37 back in December of 2024.

Izuchi Nwankqo was nothing short of spectacular: he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. Nwankqo is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was EJ Woy, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Campion Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mile High Academy only pulled down five offensive boards.

Meanwhile, Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Two Roads Charter School, falling 52-28. The Archers haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Campion Academy will need focus on slowing down Gavin Candelaria, one of several Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado players who made an impact when they last played. He had nine points.

Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Campion Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
