While losing is never fun, Pantego Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 723rd, while Covenant Christian is ranked 160th).
Despite their loss, Pantego Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Evan Jackson, who scored 12 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Brown, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Trinity Christian's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Pantego Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-16 record this season.
Trinity Christian came up short against Pantego Christian in their previous meeting back in January, falling 57-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds.
