The Montgomery Tigers entered their tilt with the Buckeye Panthers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Montgomery escaped with a win on Tuesday against Buckeye by the margin of a single free throw, 43-42. For Montgomery, this counts as revenge for the 49-45 defeat Buckeye walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Montgomery's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Z Gates, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Gates also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. A Manson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Buckeye, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-5.
Montgomery will be playing at home against Calvin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buckeye is on the road again on Thursday and play against LaSalle at 5:00 p.m. on December 7th. LaSalle will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
