The Lakeland Christian Vikings put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 49-45 victory over Academy at the Lakes. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lakeland Christian also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2021.
Lakeland Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kiya Boyce, who scored 5 points along with 8 steals and 6 assists. Boyce is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isa Cano, who scored 8 points.
Lakeland Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Academy at the Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland Christian will face off against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Academy at the Lakes, they will head out on the road to face off against North Tampa Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (North Tampa Christian Academy: 19.8, Academy at the Lakes: 24.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
