Morton strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Metamora Redbirds. That's more bragging rights for the Potters, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Morton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-24.

Morton's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Metamora, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-4.

Morton and Metamora should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Potters (ranked 42nd) will meet Pekin (ranked 232nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Metamora will challenge Greenview at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (58 vs. 310).
