After four games on the road, Trenton is heading back home. They will take on The Rock Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Trenton is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Florida (the Tigers are ranked 114th, while the Lions are ranked 375th).
Last Tuesday, Trenton didn't have too much trouble with the Eagles on the road as they won 49-32. The victory was just what Trenton needed coming off of a 67-24 loss in their prior match.
Trenton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Hubbard, who scored eight points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Koi Perry, who scored eight points along with five assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, The Rock was the victim of a tough 58-34 defeat at the hands of the Stallions on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for The Rock in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now lost three in a row.
Niyah Jones put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored ten points along with two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Stella Chigha was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
Trenton's victory bumped their record up to 19-3. As for The Rock, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-21.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Trenton have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like The Rock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
