Laurens Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 30-14 victory over Newberry Academy. The Crusaders pushed the score to 30-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Newberry Academy cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Laurens Academy to victory were Mason Cooper and Ethan Collins. Cooper gained 113 total yards and two touchdowns, while Collins threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
