Basketball Recap: Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Victorious

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost three straight) but thanks in part to Leia Garrett that streak is no more. The Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots came out on top against the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions by a score of 58-48 on Tuesday thanks in part to Garrett, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 17 points along with eight boards and three steals. Garrett is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Greater Cabarrus S's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brianna Cole, who posted 12 points, and Miley Bargesser, who had 11 points. The dominant performance gave Cole a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia McDonnell, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

The win got Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy will host Covenant Classical at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-50 defeat against Metrolina Christian Academy on the 9th.
