Mitchell never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Asheville on Monday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 13-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 on March 5th.

Addison Hobson looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

At the plate, Mitchell got a massive performance out of Gracie English, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kylie Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Mitchell's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Asheville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Mitchell has already played their next matchup, a 12-1 defeat against Watauga on the 31st. As for Asheville, they will welcome North Henderson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.3 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
