The Los Banos Tigers will face off against the Golden Valley Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Los Banos turned things around against Buhach Colony on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Thunder with a sharp 15-3 victory.
Mya Arista made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Arista was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Vierra, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Arista, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Los Banos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Golden Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over El Capitan on Thursday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.
Like Los Banos, Golden Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Savanna Benc. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Benc has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Golden Valley got a big performance out of Allie Minor, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Alanni Cienfuegos was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Golden Valley's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Los Banos, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
