The Laughlin Cougars lost against the Founders Classical Academy Centurions back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Laughlin opened the new year with a less-than-successful 57-47 defeat to Founders Classical Academy.
Laughlin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Castro, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Marcello Faccioli, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Laughlin bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Founders Classical Academy, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.
Laughlin will take on Lincoln County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lincoln County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Founders Classical Academy, they will be playing at home against Spring Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
