The Discovery Titans fell victim to the Peachtree Ridge Lions''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 62-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. Discovery has struggled against Peachtree Ridge recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Darnell Kelly, who threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Myles Abernathy also helped out with an impressive 107 receiving yards.
Discovery's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 0.0 points per game. As for Peachtree Ridge, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-1.
Discovery will be playing in front of their home fans against North Gwinnett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Gwinnett presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Discovery in Georgia (North Gwinnett is ranked 51st, while Discovery is ranked 387th). As for Peachtree Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Norcross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Norcross is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
