It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Upperman Bees had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over Stone Memorial. Upperman's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Upperman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bronzden Chaffin, who rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 78 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Palk, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Upperman has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 13-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.9 points per game. As for Stone Memorial, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
Upperman has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Macon County at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Macon County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games. Stone Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
