The South Newton Rebels had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 56-48 victory over Pioneer on Saturday. South Newton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Chayse Stillabower had a dynamite game for South Newton, scoring 23 points along with five assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stillabower has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Armstrong, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
South Newton's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Pioneer, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Newton will face off against DeMotte Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pioneer, they will head out on the road to challenge North Judson-San Pierre at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
