The Olympian Eagles will head out to take on the Grossmont Foothillers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Olympian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
On Wednesday, Olympian came up short against Eastlake and fell 9-4.
Kailynn Robeson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Jaiden Liera also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grossmont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on El Cajon Valley with a sharp 18-1 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Foothillers in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won eight in a row.
Nakhia Lee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Grossmont got a massive performance out of Madison Busch, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Jules Short was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Grossmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Cajon Valley only managed one hit.
Grossmont's record now sits at 6-11-1. As for Olympian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-1.
Olympian came out on top in a nail-biter against Grossmont in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Foothillers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
