At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sydney Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Audrey Staley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Henderson County faced Marshall County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Colonels were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Marshals. The win was familiar territory for the Colonels, who have now won five matches in a row.
Maggie Grogan was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Braylin Risley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Union County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Henderson County, their win bumped their record up to 26-2.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Union County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Henderson County struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
