Thurgood Marshall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ma?kayla Williams led the charge by scoring 16 points. The matchup was Williams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Samarra Gibson, who scored eight points along with seven steals and six assists.
Despite the loss, Belmont still got an impressive performance from Camauria Mayo, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
The win got Thurgood Marshall back to even at 2-2. As for Belmont, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
