The Gordon Central Warriors will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against the Sonoraville Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. Gordon Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Gordon Central fell victim to Calhoun's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 10-0 walloping at the hands of the Yellow Jackets. Gordon Central has not had much luck with Calhoun recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Sonoraville had just enough and edged Adairsville out 4-3 on Friday.
Sonoraville hit Adairsville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Bailey Deboard (2),
Lillian Kindl, and
Lina DeLeon Rojas.
Gordon Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sonoraville, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Everything went Gordon Central's way against Sonoraville when the teams last played back in February of 2021 as Gordon Central made off with a 10-0 victory. Will Gordon Central repeat their success, or does Sonoraville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
