Football Recap: Kolby Jones Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northview Academy

Unicoi County won the last time they faced Northview Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Cougars 29-27. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Unicoi County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kolby Jones, who rushed for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 240 yards and one TD while completing 72.2% of his passes. That's the most passing yards Jones has posted since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Jones' aerial production (130 yards to be exact) went to Avery Hatcher, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Unicoi County's record now sits at 2-0. As for Northview Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Unicoi County and Northview Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Blue Devils are set to face off against their familiar foe Gatlinburg-Pittman at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. Meanwhile, Northview Academy will challenge rival Greeneville at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
