The Spring Grove Lions stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. Everything went their way against Houston as Spring Grove made off with a 65-44 victory. Spring Grove's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Houston's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Kingsley, who scored 21 points. Kingsley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily Botcher, who scored nine points.
Spring Grove pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Houston, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Grove won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Grand Meadow at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Grand Meadow is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Houston, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Waukon at 7:15 p.m.
